BACKGROUND
Jeremy joined the team at
HHF in October, 2006, bringing with him several years
of experience as a Personal Trainer. He began his own
training in Rhode
Island in 1996, and has trained clients in several
different places since that time, including New York
City. In 2003, Jeremy
left a position as a Personal Trainer at New York
Sports Club in Manhattan to move north to take a
position as Director of Training for two branches of
Associates in Fitness & Nutrition, a personal training
company that operated within the former World Gym’s of
Haverhill, Plaistow and Methuen.
Jeremy holds a Personal
Trainer Certification from The National Academy of
Sports Medicine. He has traveled out to California to
train under Marv Marinovich, a world-renowned Personal
and Athletic Trainer. He attends continuing education
seminars on a regular basis to keep up with the
constantly evolving fitness industry, in the best
interest of his widely varied clientele.
Jeremy’s athlete client
list include a rookie pitcher for the New York Mets, a
professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter, a Golden
Gloves Champion, an amateur natural bodybuilder, as
well as numerous high school wrestlers, football,
hockey, baseball, basketball and lacrosse players.
From Youth to Elderly,
Weight Loss to Muscle Gain and everything in between,
he enjoys training clients of all types and ages, and
helping them achieve the goals they never thought
possible. Jeremy measures his own success by the
success of his clients, and makes it his personal
responsibility that each client has all the tools to
succeed in their quest for fitness!

"I
sought out a trainer for two specific reasons; I had been
recently doing mostly just aerobics classes at Hampstead
Health and Fitness and experiencing a great deal of pain in my
knee and back. So much so, that I really couldn’t participate
in most of the classes without leaving with extreme pain in my
knee, making the classes almost unbearable. The other reason,
both of my parents passed away before they were 60. This leads
me to the more urgent and obvious reason I started working out
with Jeremy: the people in my family don’t tend to live very
long. I needed to take charge of my health, and make sure that
my parent’s history did not dictate mine.
My back
and knee pain have been a constant problem for me for many
years, but nothing I ever sought medical attention for, just
something I thought I had to learn to live with. In addition,
at a recent physical, my triglyceride count was over 300
(ouch). After working with Jeremy for only 3 months, that
number went down to an amazing 75! I didn’t think that was
possible! Jeremy tells me anything is possible if you are
willing to work for it. I’m starting to believe him! When
Jeremy and I started working together, it was literally
impossible for me to do squats because of my knee. Jeremy
taught me how to do stretching exercises utilizing a foam
roller, and then a medicine ball doing Self Myofascial Release
techniques. By learning this technique, I have been able to do
squats, and all the other intense leg exercises Jeremy comes
up with for me that I haven’t been able to do for the last 10
years. It’s amazing to me that for years I’ve had this bum
knee that I’ve had to be deal with, and now it’s a non-issue,
no doctor required - just Jeremy and his expertise!
Since
the birth of my second child I’ve been a size 10, I thought it
was the size I would be forever and I had resigned myself to
that fact. But come to find out, all I had to do was learn how
to work out properly with weights, learn how to utilize the
cardio machines with the proper workout, and learn what I
should and should not eat! And the weight just fell off. I’m
now a size 4! I never, ever expected that to happen. I am
amazed with the results. Jeremy’s workouts are the toughest
hours I have ever spent, but well worth it to push through. He
pushes me to do things I would never do, and the results are
amazing. I could never have done this without Jeremy.
I feel
like I have wasted so much time working out just to maintain a
size 10 when there was this cute little size 4 under there. I
feel healthier and happier now that I have my health under
control and I know I won’t be following in my parents

I had
been walking, working out and dieting for close to 6 months,
preparing for one of the biggest nights of my life, the
opening of my play on Broadway, *Brooklyn The Musical*. I
labored day after day, week after week trying to lose the
extra weight, but to no avail. Somewhere, somehow, while my
nose was in my work, I acquired 20 extra pounds that I
couldn’t*t seems to shake off (literally). So desperately I
walked into the World Gym in Haverhill foolishly hoping for a
miracle. What I found was luck. Luck that I entered Jeremy
McCurdy*s office. He asked me about my lifestyle and what
foods I enjoy, and then he fit my diet and workout plan into
my life. He worked with me three days a week at the gym
targeting my problem areas (which I'll not mention) but also
worked on toning and strengthening the rest of my body. He was
kind and patient but worked me hard, which I would not have
done for myself. He wrote out exactly what exercises I should
be doing on the days that I didn’t see him and designed a
specific menu for me for each meal including the foods I
enjoy. In a short amount of time, I lost 15 pounds and I felt
beautiful on opening night. I know if I hadn’t gone to Jeremy
I would have kept gaining; 20 pounds would have become 30,
then 40, because I didn’t realize how bad my eating habits had
become. Jeremy explained it all to me and now, with that
knowledge, I know how to make healthier choices. When someone
can make working out and dieting almost pleasurable, that*s a
true gift!

history, including the time that I actually worked as a
trainer myself! Why am I still here then, after all these
years of training, what I've been taught, and what I've
learned through educating myself? For me, it's about

I had
been working out for 11 years, and my body was hard as a rock
- and then I had a baby. I was able to get back in great shape
in 6 months and then*I had another baby. The second pregnancy
took a huge toll on my body and I found it much harder to get

Cholesterol went down from 270 to 215 in four months and
Triglycerides went down from 398 to 162!!!! Can you believe
it??? My doctor said she never saw such a big change without
