MISSION STATEMENT
As a
Certified Sports Nutritionist and Personal Trainer, my goal is
not only to help you create a new and healthy body, but to
lead you on a path to self-discovery. I want you to learn what
your limits are, how your body reacts to different foods, and
be able to make significant and healthy nutritional choices
that last a lifetime. There is no such thing as an
“unattainable goal”. Empowered with knowledge and all the
tools to affect change, reaching your goals will no longer be
a dream; it will become a reality. When you can abandon the
concept of “dieting” and adopt a lifestyle of healthy eating,
that’s when you will become truly successful!
BACKGROUND
Pam comes to Hampstead
Health and Fitness with 13 years of training
experience, most recently adding the credit of
Certified Sports Nutritionist to her resume. Pam has a
background in nursing and has been an AFAA Certified
Personal Trainer since 2000. She was a trainer with
Associates in Fitness and Nutrition in the former
World Gym’s of Methuen and Plaistow, and is currently
serving as the nutritionist for Hampstead Health and
Fitness.
Pam has been successfully
competing as a natural bodybuilder and figure
competitor for 8 years now, taking 2nd place and the
award for Best Poser in her very first show. Pam is
passionate about improving the lives of every client
she works with, and hopes to educate members on how to
make the best healthy choices to help them succeed in
their personal goals and make significant lasting
changes to their overall health and well-being.

I have
been training with the staff of Associates in Fitness and
Nutrition for about 7 years. In preparation for my wedding in
2003, I started heavy strength training and was on a basic
weight-lifters “chicken and brown rice” diet. In 2006, after
taking about 2 years off from dieting and training, I started
back on the original diet in hopes to regain my pre-marriage
fitness level and physique. Although I was working closely
with my personal trainer, I was not seeing as many results as
I had hoped. Also, in early 2007 I had anaphylactic shock and
was diagnosed with food allergies to yogurt, cow’s milk, and
certain spices (many of the staples of my 2003 diet). I needed
to figure out how to manage my nutrition so that I could
continue strength training and cardio while avoiding potential
allergens. In addition, I was noticing that even though I was
avoiding junk food and was training 3-4 times a week my weight
had reached a plateau. This is when a friend referred me to
Pam Janco.
During
my initial consultation with Pam, we discussed my past
nutritional patterns, recent allergies, current eating habits,
and my goals for weight training, She was attentive and
sensitive to my concerns, easy to relate to, and very
knowledgeable. After talking for over an hour, Pam suggested
that we try an anti-inflammatory, natural-detoxification diet
that consisted mainly of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and natural
fats and oils, and lean protein. Most importantly, Pam’s diet
avoided all of the foods to which I was allergic while giving
me options for every meal. I was concerned that this was much
different than my former diet and wondered how the decrease in
carbohydrates (brown rice, whole grain breads, etc) and
protein (egg whites) would affect my strength training, but
Pam assured me that I would feel fine if not better.
Within
one week of starting Pam’s meal plan I could already feel the
difference. I felt less bulky and had clearer skin. As I
continued strength training with my trainer, I noticed that
Pam was right – my strength was not affected negatively, but
positively – I was able to lift more and had more stamina than
before! Within 3 weeks I had lost 4lbs and was down one size.
The amazing thing is that my metabolism is still high (I do
get hungry by the time it’s time to eat again), but I don’t
have any cravings. The food on my meal plan is filling and
tasty, is portion controlled, and is tailored around my likes
and dislikes. While my weight loss has only been a few pounds,
my muscle-to-fat ratio has definitely shifted and my strength
has either increased or maintained. My clothes fit better and
I am more confident wearing them.
My
experience working with Pam Janco has been fantastic. She
helped me become more aware of what I’m eating and what a
correct portion size is for me. In addition, she is always
available via email or phone just in case I have any questions
or problems. I would recommend Pam’s nutritional services

and decided to see Pam Janco for help with my
nutrition plan. I had been following my current plan
for a year and knew I needed to make some changes.
During our initial session, we discussed my current
diet and my need to add variety to the food choices.
Pam formulated a plan
that is easy to follow, has three options for each
meal and includes everyday recipes that are both
delicious and easy to prepare. Pasta, beef, stuffed
peppers and healthy fried rice are just a few of the
choices. She is available by phone or by e-mail to
answer questions and offer support. Vitamins and
supplements are also listed on the plan.
Pam also works closely
with the training staff at HHF. My food plan is
coordinated with my weight training and cardiovascular
program developed by Jeremy McCurdy. The results have
been outstanding. In 7 weeks, I have lost a total of
6.25 inches and 4 lbs, while gaining size in my
biceps! My strength has increased, my body fat is
down, and I feel great!
