about hhf

In November 1999 Hampstead Health and Fitness (HHF) opened its doors to service the fitness needs of Hampstead and surrounding community residents. HHF has built a reputation as a high-quality fitness club during a period of tremendous growth and competition in the fitness industry.

In early 2006, long-time local Health Club Manager and Personal Trainer Ted Curtin and local Physician Dr. Humberto Valdes joined forces to purchase HHF and by October 2006 the era of the new ownership began. We have one shared goal: to take a great facility to the next level by making it a place where all members of a family, regardless of age, can take part in an engaging exercise program that is an individual, unique experience. A true family fitness center has been created!

During our first 5 months in business, we have:

• Increased the club’s cardio equipment by 25%
• Upgraded outdated strength equipment
• Doubled the personal training staff
• Brought Spinning back to the club and added 10 exciting new classes such as Zumba to the group exercise program
• Started a group exercise program for kids
• Hired a Nutritionist
• Added delicious, healthy smoothies to the drink menu
• Introduced HHF Massage
• Created a new playroom environment

Most importantly, we have turned a mutually-held dream into reality. In March 2007 we launched a one-of-a-kind youth fitness facility, HHF KIDS, to service the youth who have been, for the most part left behind by the fitness industry. Through early membership in an interactive gym that blends video-game bikes, electronic dance pads (DDR's), and Nintendo Wii exercises with personalized free-weight, cardiovascular, and core training, HHF will help combat many of the health issues facing our children today and get them started on a life long road to optimal health and fitness.

HHF's MISSION: With deep desire to help others, dedication to health & fitness and the belief in accomplishing fitness goals the natural, moral way, we will support one another as a team to help people live better lives. We are committed to providing our club members with the cutting-edge knowledge & unparalleled support that is necessary to help them reach their personal fitness goals through teamwork and the use of our individual talents & resources.

Our success will ultimately be measured by how we impact the quality of life for families in our community.
